Katherine Ayres, PhD
Katherine earned her Ph.D. with the Center for Conservation Biology at the University of Washington. Katherine has had 6 years of experience applying scat detection dog techniques to Conservation Biology research. She has trained and handled a detection dog to track whale poop from the bow of a boat for her Ph.D. dissertation. Energized from applying Animal Behavior to Conservation Biology, she struck out to be an expert in both the science of ethology as well as learning theory. She uses animal friendly training techniques for long-term, effective behavior modification solutions for dogs and cats. After an inspiring year interning with Companion Animal Solutions, she is bringing this top behavior and training practice to the Central Coast area.
