The most important developmental stage in a dog's life is the first 18 weeks. This period is called the "socialization window". A well socialized puppy means a confidant, non fearful adult dog later in life. So many of the behavior cases we see in adult dogs such as separation anxiety, fear, and fear aggression could have been avoided if only people had know what to do for their puppies in the beginning. Ethologists, Veterinarians, and Animal Behaviorists have contributed important new information about what we need to do to raise our puppies to be the kind of dogs we dream of having.
Our Puppy Head Start consultation is performed in your home and lasts about two hours. Some of the topics covered during this consultation include:
- House Training
- Crate Training
- Socialization
- Acquired Bite Inhibition
- Body Handling
- Resource Guarding
- Alone Training
You will receive an "Urban Puppy Kit", a puzzle toy and other goodies in your Puppy Head Start package. Get your puppy off on the right paw today!
