Christine Hibbard, CTC, CPDT-KA
Passionate about establishing the country’s top behavior and training practice, Christine graduated with honors from the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, pursued years of advanced study with experts who included Jean Donaldson and Janis Bradley, and then founded Companion Animal Solutions. She specializes in private behavior consultations for dogs and cats, in-home training, and animal behavior workshops in the greater Seattle area.
Jim Ha, PhD, CAAB
Jim is currently a Research Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Washington. He is one of 25 PhD level Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists in the country. Jim has demonstrated consistent success in applying the knowledge he’s gained from his academic career to domestic animals living in an ever more urbanized world. He has extensive experience working as an Expert Legal Witness in cases involving animals. Jim sees dog, cat, and parrot behavior cases in the greater Seattle area.
Louisa Beal, DVM
Louisa Beal is a veterinarian with a passion for helping owners solve behavior problems with their dogs and cats. She has interned with three of the top animal behaviorists in the field. Her keen interest in animal behavior stayed with her throughout her 10-year ownership of a veterinary clinic. In 1996, she sold her veterinary practice and founded Veterinary Behavior Consultations. Louisa serves a wide area including Tacoma and Olympia where she performs private behavior consultations for dogs and cats.
Katherine Ayres, PhD
Katherine earned her Ph.D. with the Center for Conservation Biology at the University of Washington. Katherine has had 6 years of experience applying scat detection dog techniques to Conservation Biology research. She has trained and handled a detection dog to track whale poop from the bow of a boat for her Ph.D. dissertation. Energized from applying Animal Behavior to Conservation Biology, she struck out to be an expert in both the science of ethology as well as learning theory. She uses animal friendly training techniques for long-term, effective behavior modification solutions of companion animals. After an inspiring year interning with Companion Animal Solutions, she is bringing this top behavior and training practice to the California Central Coast area.
